“He told me on the first call that my case wasn't hopeless and wasn't easy either. Both turned out to be true, and I appreciated knowing.”

Isaac Boateng
Criminal defense lawyer
I defend people charged with crimes, and I do it alone, so the lawyer you meet is the lawyer you keep.
I grew up in Providence, the son of a nurse and a bus driver, and I started my career defending people who couldn't afford a lawyer. That work taught me that most cases are decided by preparation, not speeches: the report nobody read closely, the video nobody watched to the end.
I opened this practice to work that way for every client. I take fewer cases than a larger firm would, I answer my own phone, and I tell clients what I think of their case even when it isn't what they hoped to hear.
What I handle
- DUI and refusal cases
- Drug charges
- Assault and theft charges
- Sealing and expungement

How I work
Three things you can count on
Candor
You'll hear my honest read of your case, in plain words, as soon as I have one. If the evidence is strong, I'll say so, and we'll talk about what can still be done.
Preparation
I read every page of discovery and watch every minute of video before I advise you. Most of the good outcomes I've seen came from something found that way.
Presence
I go to your hearings myself. I don't send a colleague you've never met, and I call you after each one to say what happened and what comes next.
From clients
What people said afterwards
“My son was nineteen and terrified. Isaac explained every hearing to both of us beforehand, and called after each one.”
“I'd been turned down for three apartments over a case from fifteen years ago. Four months later it was sealed.”
Sample quotes for this template. Each client's case is different, and these don't promise a similar result.
Ask me about your case
The first call is free. Bring the paperwork you were given, and your next court date.
A call doesn't make me your lawyer; a signed engagement letter does.
